FAQ'S - Natural Lifestyle Health Consultations
Q. What is a consultation, and why do I need one?
A. You have questions. A lot of them. About what to eat, how to prepare it, what direction to follow to become a healthier and more whole person, how to improve or regain physical health and emotional balance, where to start, and on and on. Sound familiar? We hear your questions all day every day. And we have answers for you. A lot of them.
In order to give you the time it takes to answer your questions, we schedule one on one time with you, by phone or in person, to meet with you, teach you, listen to you, and address your needs.
Q. What is the difference between a Natural Lifestyle Consultation and a Compassionate Listening Consultation?
A. A Natural Lifestyle Consultation focuses on diet and lifestyle, borrowing from Oriental Medicine and Macrobiotics as a scientific reference point from which to model the diet and lifestyle on, similar to the Mediterranean Diet model that is so well known and successful in completing a healthy course of action.
The Compassionate Listening consultation is geared to address emotional issues in a persons life. The focus is not on diet and lifestyle so much as it is on changing and shifting thought patterns. It does touch on and utilize the very comprehensive emotional component of the Oriental Medicine 5 Element Theory (click here to view the 5 Element Mandala) and does include some diet and lifestyle tips as well.
Q. What is the difference between the initial and the follow-up consultation?
A. The initial consultation pertains to the Natural Lifestyle Consultation. It is a 1 1/2 hour long session, designed to introduce the concepts we teach, as we familiarize ourselves with you. It is very comprehensive, and it lays the ground work for all of your future health oriented endeavors, no matter where they lead you. We like to compare it to learning the computer. Sure, you can jump in in the middle, and try to grab onto bits and pieces of information, and learn as you go. But if you took the time to take one basic course that gives you a real good foundation from which to build, you can use that information to filter what you want and need to know, discern what works for you, apply it to other electronic devices, etc. The initial Natural Lifestyle Consultation is the "basic course" for how to live a healthy life.
All other consultations can be as long or as short as you need. We pro-rate the price to the length of the consult.
Q.How do these consultations fit in with my medical program?
A. The consultations are meant to compliment any and all medical programs. Since we use natural whole foods and natural lifestyle techniques that are designed to fit your specific and unique needs, they should in no way interfere or conflict with medical advice. In fact, because of our extensive nursing background, we specialize in bridging western and complimentary practices to create a program that will work for you.
Q.Will I learn to cook during a Natural Lifestyle Consultation?
A. No. A Natural Lifestyle Consultation is not a hands on cooking class. In the consultation, you learn which foods to eat, what they are, why you need to use them, where to find them, and how to put it all together so that it fits into your life. We address your cravings, and your weaknesses. We create healthy alternatives for your "problem" area's. We do a show and tell to familiarize you with "real" food. But we do not prepare it. You would need to schedule a cooking class to experience hands on cooking. During the cooking class we really focus on cooking. Chopping methods, cooking methods, cutlery, etc. and do not go over the principles of the foods themselves in anywhere near the depth that we do during the consultation.

We charge a fee for our private labor time in addition to the cost of each container of food that you order, but are your complete and total "Personal Chef's", and accommodate your every need. FAQ'S - Weekly Delivery Service
Q.How Do I Begin Ordering?
A. To begin ordering please contact us in advance of our Monday at noon deadline for placing an order, so that we can set up your account. We will need your Delivery Information which you can provide to us by filling out our Delivery Questionnaire, and the items you would like to order. We will take care of the rest. It is as simple as that!
Q. Do I have to order every week?
A. No. Once you are on our Weekly Menu ~ Newsletter Mailing List (please sign up from our home page), you will begin receiving our Weekly Delivery Service Menu. If you want to order that week, simply send the order form in with the items you want before noon on Monday. If we don't hear from you, we assume you are not ordering that week. Since we always confirm the orders, you will know that we have received your order for the week.
Q.How do I pay?
A. We bill you each week. The bill will be in the package with your food. If you plan to be a fairly steady client, you can pay us at the end of each month when you receive the final bill for that month. If you will be ordering more sporadically, we would appreciate you paying upon receipt of each bill.
Q. Where do you deliver, I'm not sure I am in your delivery range?
A. We deliver from South Miami to points north of West Palm Beach, and everywhere in between! If you are not sure you are within our delivery range, ask us. You probably are, but we can check and be sure. We also deliver throughout South Florida and out of State via UPS overnight delivery. If you are interested in receiving more information about our overnight delivery service please contact us.
Q. What if you deliver and I am not home?
A. The food leaves our premises around noon, after being fully cooled, and arrives at your delivery location by 6 PM that same day. It is securely packed with ice packs, insulated well, and taped up so that not even an ant can crawl in. If you are not "home", we will leave it at your front door or with your security personnel. It should be fine until you unpack it.
Q. How often do you deliver?
A. We deliver once a week with this service. If you want additional weekly deliveries, you would be able to receive them through our Personal Chef Services.
Q. What is the difference between the Weekly Prepared Food Delivery Service and the Private Cooking Services?

We charge a fee for our private labor time in addition to the cost of each container of food that you order.
Q. How much food should I order? How many meals does it provide?
A. The food comes in individual containers. There is one dish per container. But way more than one serving per container. Please read on. There are six dishes on each weekly menu. The menu is designed to comprise a fully balanced meal if you order all six containers. You are meant to mix and match food from each container to create a meal for yourself. One small container of food contains about 3-4 average size servings. One large container of food contains about six servings. You can select servings from different containers to create a plate full of whatever you desire for that meal. You can supplement the food we send you with dishes that you prepare for yourself. For example, you can cook a piece of fish to go with a few of our dishes. Or a fresh salad. Or a steamed vegetable. It is fun and easy. Once you take the plunge and place your first order, you will learn exactly how much you need to order for your own personal needs.
Q. Do I need to order everything on the menu? Is there a minimum order? Are the menu's the same each week?
A. You can order any size, and any quantity, of any item on the menu. And you can change your order every single week. Each week the format of the menu is the same. The first dish is always a miso based soup. The second dish is always a whole grain dish containing brown rice. The third dish is the main protein dish, such as beans, tempeh, or tofu. The fourth dish is a miscellaneous dish. It could be pasta, vegetables, another grain, or a combination of those items. The fifth dish is a vegetable dish. And the sixth dish is a nutritious, nutrient dense, sugar and dairy free dessert. The format is always the same, but the dishes themselves change from week to week and from season to season to give you plenty of variety. If you order everything on the menu, we can assure you that you are getting a balanced diet. If you omit certain items, we encourage you to be sure to include those food groups in your diet yourselves in order to be sure you get the proper nutrition. There is no minimum or maximum order requirement. The delivery charge is the same low rate no matter what you order.
Q. How long does the food last?
A. While it is always best to eat food as fresh as possible, it may not be realistic for you to order our food privately or to cook for yourselves in between our weekly deliveries which is why many of our clients order enough food to last them several days, based on their own appetite requirements. Our animal product free food does stay fresh for several days.
Q. Can I freeze this food?
A. Again, it is always best to eat food fresh, but our food does freeze quite well. The less time it is frozen, the more energy, vitality, and nutrition it retains. So we recommend "flash freezing". Place our freshly prepared food in the freezer overnight, and then move it to the refrigerator the next day. This will prolong it's shelf life by a few days so that you can use it for the entire week. Hint: you might want to order two small containers instead of one large container if you plan to use this method. That way you can begin eating from one container while you flash freeze / preserve the other one for later in the week. We want to discourage you from "stock piling" food in your freezer. Since we deliver fresh food each week, try to take advantage of that, and only order enough for one week or so, instead of keeping stock piles of food in the freezer. This way you get fresh and varied food each week.
Q. Is the food good? I don't want to feel deprived.
A. We think that this is the best food available in all of South Florida. We know it is the cleanest, purest, and most nutritious. It is prepared following precise macrobiotic standards, with our own signature flair for creativity. We have been in business for over 15 years, and have many satisfied customers.
Q. How do I heat the food up?
A. Please see our Eating Instructions for directions on how to use the food.
Take a look at our testimonial page to get an idea of what our customers have to say, and we have included a few comments below as well:
"Everything was delicious... It was so nice to come home from work and have dinner prepared for me! There's a lot of food so I will be healthy for the next several days..."
