EATING INSTRUCTIONS!!
Dear New Customer:
Since you are unfamiliar with our food, I wanted to include a few serving suggestions!
The soups can be eaten warm or hot, or even room temp, just do not boil them because of the delicate live enzymes in the miso, and do not eat them cold, even the gazpacho’s.
The rice, any grain dish, and any pasta dish, and the bean dishes, can also be eaten at room temp. If you want to heat them, put the amount you want to eat in a flat frying pan, and just sprinkle it with some water or soup broth, just enough to moisten, not enough so it is floating in water, and put it on a low heat and let it just steam and plump up from the small amount of moisture you added to it. Only heat the amount you want to eat, so as not to reheat the food unnecessarily. It will heat quicker, but could become overcooked if covered. You can also put the food that you want heated, right on the entire plate, in a bamboo steamer, covered, to gently warm it.
Dishes like the fillo dishes, spring rolls, lasagne, etc., can be heated in the oven, but I prefer to put them in a very lightly oiled pan, and brown and crisp them up on the stove, both sides if you want. I think it requires too much work and time to turn the oven on, and creates too much heat.
The greens, and most vegetable dishes, and dishes called “salads” (like Tofu Chickenless salad, etc.), are nice at room temp, but can be slightly steamed and warmed the same way as the rice. Just be careful not to overcook them, as they are cooked just right when you get them, and too much heat will over cook them.
I don’t think the desserts require any instruction! They look and taste decadent, but believe me, they are totally low fat and healthy, and actually have a lot of nutrient value. Most of them work perfectly as breakfast dishes too.
Most importantly, no microwaves, and don’t eat the food cold, always let it come to room temperature before eating.
Eat slowly, chew well, and please enjoy!
Very Sincerely,
Gayle Stolove / Wholly Macro
